Day 1:
5 Tricks to Keeping Your Toddler Occupied/Happy in Public

1.  Keep snacks packed: a special treat like a sucker to a box/bag of popcorn, a fruit snack or bag of grapes, a pouch snack. Anything tasty that your toddler loves to eat. Food is a great entertainer as well a replenishes their body and keeps them happy and healthy.

2. A "new" toy: take something off the shelf at the store that your toddler can play with during the shopping trip.  It's like a "free" toy and entertainment to help distract your toddler so you can get your errands done. Before you leave or when your toddler loses interest, put the toy back.

3. A Play Pack Grab and Go: For only $.99 you can buy these preassembled coloring books, color and sicker packs to entertain you child.  Have one handy in your diaper bag for times of need.  These are great for when you are waiting in lines, waiting at a doctors office or even at restaurants.  Or even stash toys and books in your diaper bag.

4. Educate your toddler: Educate and talk to your toddler while shopping. Play "I-Spy" in the grocery store to work on colors, letter, body parts or even numbers.  This not only makes learning fun but makes shopping fun too.

5. Take advance of your smart phone: Have "favorited" YouTube videos, cartoon clips or even movie clips stored on your phone to pull out right before that big meltdown.  YouTube is easily accessible on your phone and can be ready for your next public tantrum.   You can even have educational learning apps downloaded and ready for your toddler to play.
